Missional Hermeneutics — Links
I have found some excellent resources for those interested in a missional hermeneutics. I want to introduce readers of the Real Meal blog to the work of three biblical scholars who have resources on the web.
The first is New Testament professor Michael Barram. Mike and I did our graduate work at the same school: Union-PSCE in Richmond, VA. He was a year ahead of me and worked primarily in NT while I was/am an OT specialist. Here is a paper that he read this paper at the 2006 meeting of the AAR-SBL. It is titled “Located Questions for a Missional Hermeneutics.”
Colin Yuckman contrasts a missional hermeneutic with the traditional historical critical hermeneutics in an engaging paper titled “An Ulterior Gospel”. This paper was presented at the 2005 Joint Meeting of the AAR-SBL (American Academy of Religion — Society of Biblical Literature).
Michael Goheen offers “Notes Toward a Framework for a Missional Hermeneutic.” Goheen is the co-author with Craig Bartholomen of a fine book titled The Drama of Scripture: Finding Our Place in the Biblical Story.
[...] More Missional Hermeneutics from Brian Russell, this time a set of selected links to to others on the same subject. [...]
